Center Lathe
<insert name here>
A lathe is a machine tool that shapes metal, wood, or other material by rapidly turning it against a stationary cutting device. The material to be shaped on a lathe is called the work-piece. Lathes can shape, drill, bore, grind, and perform other operations. The piece of round material is held in place whilst a spinning drill is manually moved towards it. The drill drills a hole into the piece of round material, which is held in position. A cylindrical hole is then drilled into the material being used. This is how a centre lathe can be used for drilling a hole in a round piece of material.
